On behalf of The Presbyterian Church In Geneva at 24 Park Place, music director Richard Cox invites you to join us at 10:30 Sunday morning December 10th for a service of Baroque music celebrating the Advent and Christmas seasons. The centerpiece of the service will be Antonio Vivaldi’s marvelous “Gloria” sung by the members of the Church’s Adult Choir who will be joined by several singers from the community along with guest soloists Mariami Bekauri and Marilla Lipker Gonzalez. Chris Wertman and Sharyn Powell from the choir will be singing the lovely Laudamus te duet.
The Christmas Gospel by Martin Mayer will be sung by Charles King with Ms Bekauri and Ms Gonzalez joining at the end as the angels of the story.
An orchestra of strings, oboe, bassoon, trumpet and harpsichord, including local instrumentalist Steven and Lorraine Jones, Andy Stobie, and Linda Cox, will play the Overture to Handel’s Messiah for the Prelude to the service and the final movement of Arcangelo Corelli’s Christmas Concerto as offertory. They will also accompany the vocal selections and hymns.
Come and join us for this service of musical celebration.
