Families Belong Together Rally

Religious groups all over the country, including the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, the United States Council of Catholic Bishops, Reform Judaism.org, The United Methodist Church, and individual religious leaders such as Franklin Graham have all denounced the practice of forced separation of children from their families at our southern borders. Cardinal DiNardo of the USCCB has said, “Families are the foundational element of our society and they must be able to stay together. While protecting our borders is important, we can and must do better as a government, and as a society, to find other ways to ensure that safety. Separating babies from their mothers is not the answer and is immoral.”

There will be a Families Belong Together Rally this Saturday in Geneva, N.Y. We’re rallying in Geneva, and across the country, to tell our elected officials, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Homeland Security to reunite children with their parents and to stop the systemic criminalization of refugees and immigrants. Join us on June 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon outside the Lakefront Visitors Center. Help to send a clear message to Washington: Families Belong Together!
