Take Note

As we enter the Lenten season and journey through Palm Sunday to Easter, it is a great time to join the choir for a season of singing.  We have wonderful anthems planned for this reflective journey in musical styles from Baroque to contemporary, including a piece that will join the children’s choirs with the adult choir on Palm Sunday.  The Bell Choir will ring a wonderful arrangement of “What Wondrous Love Is This” during Lent and ring our Easter celebration in with the celebratory melody by Natalie Sleeth, “Joy in the Morning”.  If you are of high school age or above, come and join us for the Lenten/Easter season of song.  We rehearse Thursday evenings from 7:00 until 8:30.  On May 20 at 4:00 pm, our choir will be joining with singers from the community for a concert entitled ‘Love Your Neighbor: For Everyone Born, a Place at the Table’.  Rehearsals for this special event will begin in March during the regular choir rehearsal time from 7:00 until 7:30.  We will be using many of these songs for the Sacred Song service.  Help us come together to show our love for our neighbors and give support to those who feel threatened. Through all of our joys and struggles, music, played and sung, brings us comfort and strength.  Every season is an opportunity to sing and dance, to make a joyful noise to the Lord, to celebrate the uniting love of Christ.

“When the goodness poured from heaven fills our dwellings;   when the nations work to change war into peace;   when the stranger is accepted as our neighbor;   we see God, here by our side, walking our way.”
